Hello SEAkers, I'm
CAlvin
and I'm one of the co-founders.
"The world's center of economic gravity is shifting to Asia, we will guide our SEAkers to ride this enormous wave of opportunity, building new synergies for the a mutually beneficial ASEAN-China partnership."
His Experiences
Calvin is an alumni of NUS Business School, as a member of the prestigious NUS Overseas College Program, he was based in Shanghai throughout 2020, studying at Fudan University and co-founded Fudan Entrepreneur Society. In addition, Calvin studied in Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management under the Fung Scholarship.
Calvin have had various experiences in different roles ranging from Investment Banking, Private Equity to Strategic Development. His favourite role thus far was the Head of Venture Investments in Z-Turner, a Shanghai based start-up that aims to empower budding Chinese tertiary student entrepreneurs. He intends to bring this concept into Southeast Asia
His Realization
Returning from China, Calvin felt an urgent need to improve his understanding of the region in order to provide value and synergy as a bridge between China and ASEAN. He is also acutely aware of the lack of information and knowledge regarding ASEAN, hence he started ASEANHANDS, the first podcast dedicated to discussing business in South East Asia. He represented Singapore in the Young ASEAN Leaders Policy Initiative 2020 held in Chulalongkorn University
His Hopes
Calvin looks forward to sharing his work and study experiences in both China and Southeast Asia, encouraging his fellow peers to capitalise on the upcoming opportunities to create a stronger community of ASEAN youths. Calvin aims to sharpen his Bahasa skills and trying out more local delicacies within ASEAN.
